Sapristi! is a cooperative and competitive card game  in which uses the familiar of poker hand rankings to resolve conflict. Poker is perennially popular and bridges the gap between gamers and non-gamers. Players will need to co-operate to defeat a number of increasingly powerful foes, but compete because only one player can escape with the most treasure and win the game. Each character has a different set of special abilities, but using these expends cards which could also be used to make a poker hand. The game can be skinned for any setting or licence where four heroes with different abilities are fighting bad guys; we have illustrated this with our own 1930s-adventure-themed setting “The Treasure of the Poker Gods”.

• Platform can be used with any licence which has 4 or more characters fighting foes.
• Constant dynamic interplay of competition within a setting of co-operation. Do you turn on your friends for their powerful treasures, or keep them around to help defeat your foes?
• Asymmetric characters with unique abilities add to replayability and enable different play styles.
• Immediately accessible to anyone who’s played poker. But, different enough that being good at poker won’t help you here.
• Expansion space for 4 further characters within the game.
