Look at the world today. The news is full of stories of power being abused. There is incompetence, idiocy and wannabe dictators on all sides. More young people than ever before are politically engaged, taking to social media and beyond to decry the ridiculous decrees of whichever Tinpot dictator has had the latest dumb idea.

We have captured the zeitgeist in our latest game, “Tinpot”, lampooned the madness, captured the arrogance and made a game which is funny, challenging and engaging.

In “Tinpot”, you are trusted advisors to ‘The Great Leader’, a power-crazed dictator who has loads of “great ideas” for improving the country.

Unfortunately, these ideas are usually terrible. But if you defy The Great Leader too often, you will be shunned you while supporting advisors will be rewarded.

If too many terrible ideas are approved, the country will collapse and everyone will lose!

Work closely with your fellow advisors, forming alliances to approve the ideas you like and vote down the ones you don’t, try to stay on The Great Leader’s good side, complete your secret objectives , and save the nation from this Tinpot dictator!

• Tinpot is both co-operative and competitive. If the nation collapses everyone loses, but players must also pursue their own hidden agendas to achieve individual victory.
• Players are actively encourage to leave the table to have secret discussions. Each round has a strict time limit to keep everything flowing smoothly.
• Players have a simple decision each round – how to vote on three different decrees. However, coordinating your votes with those of other players to ensure the best outcome can be challenging.
• Each game of Tinpot has an unknown number of rounds. The game could end after any round, keeping the tension high and players focused on their objectives.
• The Great Leader’s decrees lampoon ideas from real-world leaders – which are often even crazier than anything we could dream up!
